India, Dec. 17 -- BMW has filed a design patent for the Speedtop concept in India. The concept debuted at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in Italy. It is based on the now-discontinued BMW M8. The new BMW Speedtop coupe represents a modern take on the brand's shooting-brake heritage. With the patent being filed in the Indian market, there is a possibility that the brand is planning to bring the Speedtop to our shores. However, nothing is confirmed as of now. Sometimes, the manufacturers file a patent to protect the design of the car.

Only 70 units are planned for production. This limited edition targets collectors and enthusiasts seeking exclusivity and powerful performance in a retro-inspired design that stands out.
