India, Dec. 19 -- BMW Motorrad India has officially announced that prices will be hiked by up to 6 per cent across its entire portfolio on our shores, with the new prices to come into effect on January 1, 2026. The company cited sustained cost pressures linked to the Indian currency's depreciation against the US dollar and rising input costs of raw materials.

The Indian rupee continued to decline into December 2025, reaching an all-time low of 91.01 on Tuesday, December 16. It is currently the worst-performing currency in Asia in 2025, having declined by as much as 6 per cent against the US dollar. The decline is attributed to a range of factors, including US hitting Indian goods with 50% tariffs and an outflow of foreign funds.
