India, March 9 -- Rachin Ravindra and Will Young provided a solid start to New Zealand after captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and opted to bat against India in the ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025 final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Mohammed Shami had the chance to send the left-handed Rachin back to the hut, but he failed to take the catch off his own bowling in the seventh over.
Rachin Ravindra chipped back the good-length delivery, and the ball went to Shami's left. However, the pacer could not hold on to the ball as it hit the end of his left hand.
