NEW DELHI, April 18 -- The process of appointing the new president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has gathered pace, with people aware of the matter saying the party is likely to announce new state unit chiefs in about half a dozen provinces over the coming weekend.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met outgoing party chief JP Nadda to discuss organisational issues, including the appointment of state presidents, the people said.
"New state presidents are likely be announced in a day or two in Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Gujarat.
