BJP MLC under fire for derogatory remarks
Bengaluru, May 27 -- A row erupted in Karnataka after BJP MLC N Ravikumar made provocative remarks targeting Kalaburagi deputy commissioner. While addressing a public gathering in Kalaburagi on May 24, he asked whether IAS officer, Fouzia Taranum, was from Pakistan.
He made the comment in the context of a recent incident at Chittapur, where LoP in the legislative council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy was allegedly prevented from leaving a government guest house by a group of Congress supporters. The protest was staged after Narayanaswamy allegedly made derogatory remarks against state minister Priyank Kharge.
