Ranchi, July 26 -- The Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand cabinet has approved a bill to transfer powers to appoint Vice Chancellors (VCs), pro-VCs and financial advisors in state-run universities from the Governor to the state government, people aware of the matter said on Friday. The Jharkhand State University Bill, 2025, which is likely to be tabled in the assembly during the upcoming session beginning August 1, was cleared on Thursday by the cabinet.
