Bihar IAS officer held for graft reinstated in Board of Revenue
PATNA, Dec. 31 -- Controversial 1997-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Sanjeev Hans, who was in judicial custody after being accused in a multicrore corruption case, was posted as an additional member of the Board of Revenue on Tuesday.
The new posting was notified by the general administrative department (GAD) which came within weeks of his suspension being revoked.
Officials said the posting was part of a reshuffle of 16 IAS officers by the state government.
Hans was earlier posted as principal secretary in the energy department when he was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in October 2024 on allegations of money laundering and corruption linked to irregularities during his tenure overseeing power sector tenders.
