India, Oct. 15 -- Chief minister Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) or JD(U) on Wednesday, October 15, released its first list of 57 candidates for the upcoming high-stakes Bihar assembly elections.
The party will contest on 101 seats in the 243-seat Bihar assembly, under the NDA seat-sharing pact. Voting for the Bihar assembly elections will take place in two phases on November 6 and November 11, while the counting of votes is scheduled for November 14.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), of which JD(U) is a part, announced its seat-sharing formula on Sunday. The Bharatiya Janata Party and JD(U) will fight on 101 assembly constituencies each, while Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will contest on 29 seats.
