India, July 4 -- House Republicans gathered enough support to pass President Donald Trump's Big Beautiful Bill on Thursday. The legislation will not reach Trump's desk and will be declared into law before the Fourth of July deadline. Only days after the Senate passed the bill with VP JD Vance's tie-breaking vote, the House voted 218-214, with two Republicans breaking away from party lines.

The White House, minutes after the House vote, indicated that Trump would address the country later in the day. The package offers $4.5 trillion in tax breaks enacted in 2017 during Trump's first term. This includes allowing workers to deduct tips and overtime pay, and a $6,000 deduction for most older adults earning less than $75,000 a year.
