India, Sept. 13 -- Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old radio and podcast host and a close ally of former President Donald Trump, was shot and killed on Wednesday while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

Many people have paid tribute to Kirk, including Senator Bernie Sanders, who is now serving his fourth term in the US Senate after winning re-election in 2024. Before that, he spent 16 years in the House of Representatives, making him the longest-serving independent member of Congress in US history.
