India, April 3 -- Bengaluru's traffic congestion is worsening as the number of vehicles on its roads continues to climb at an alarming rate. The city now has over 1.2 crore registered vehicles, according to a report by The Times of India. Statewide, vehicle registrations have also seen a significant surge, rising from just over 2.7 crore in March 2021 to more than 3.3 crore as of February 2025. Bengaluru alone has witnessed rapid growth in motor vehicle ownership, with numbers increasing from slightly over 1 crore in March 2021 to the current 1.2 crore.
