India, Sept. 11 -- Bengaluru homebuyer forums have filed written objections before the Karnataka Real Estate Regulatory Authority (KRERA) opposing the Bengaluru Development Authority's (BDA) claim that it should be exempt from RERA's ambit.
Earlier, BDA had sought exemption from provisions of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, in a plea made before the Karnataka Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). It argued that the BDA Act is a self-contained legal framework, repeatedly upheld by the Supreme Court, and hence the RERA Act does not apply to its projects or complaints.
