India, Nov. 20 -- Bengaluru must dramatically cut down its plastic use if it hopes to become a cleaner, greener city, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Wednesday. Speaking at the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board's (KSPCB) golden jubilee celebrations at Palace Grounds, he disclosed that the city produces around 900 tonnes of plastic waste every day.

Calling this unsustainable, the CM urged citizens, businesses and civic bodies to work together to eliminate plastic by 2030.
