Kolkata, April 21 -- A fourth person has been arrested in connection with the murder of two people in violence-hit Murshidabad district earlier this month, police said on Sunday, even as political slugfest over the anti-Waqf law protests continued, with the opposition BJP alleging that the violence was a"state sponsored terrorism" under the Mamata Banerjee-led government.
The accused, identified as Jiaul Sheikh from Sulitala village, was arrested on Saturday night by the state police's special task force (STF). Sheikh was arrested in connection with the murder of Haragobindo Das (72) and Chandan Das (40), who were hacked to death inside their home in Jafrabad area of the district on April 12.
