Aizawl, Dec. 4 -- The Assam Rifles recovered around 5.55 kg of methamphetamine tablets worth Rs.16.65 crore during a search operation in Champhai's Venglai locality in Mizoram on Tuesday, an officer familiar with the matter said on Wednesday, adding that one person was also apprehended in connection with the recovery. In a statement, inspector general of Assam Rifles (east) said: "After receiving credible information related to the narcotics trafficking near Indo-Myanmar border, the Assam Rifles conducted an operation in Venglai locality in Champhai on Tuesday."
