Asim Munir appointed Field Marshal in Pak
India, Dec. 31 -- Following the military defeat in Operation Sindoor (May 7-10) against India, Pakistan surprised the world by promoting chief of army staff Asim Munir to the rank of field-marshal on May 20. It made Munir the second individual in Pakistan's history to attain the field-marshal rank after Ayub Khan. It was, however, not the end of the story.
