New Delhi, Aug. 14 -- The Supreme Court on Wednesday observed that the Election Commission of India's (ECI) decision to expand the list of acceptable documents for proof of citizenship under the special intensive revision (SIR) in Bihar seemed "voter-friendly" and gave electors more options to establish eligibility. The court's observations came on a day the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleged that the Congress indulged in voter fraud to defeat BR Ambedkar in 1952, and added former party chief Sonia Gandhi's name in 1980 without meeting the basic citizenship requirement.
