Gurugram, April 24 -- Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday directed the irrigation department and the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) to enhance Gurugram's drinking water supply by 100 million litres per day (mld) by May-end - a move expected to bring major relief to residents from June.
Chairing GMDA's 14th meeting, Saini also asked officials and stakeholders to finalise the modalities for rebuilding the Gurugram Water Channel, which carries Yamuna water to the city. "We've been tasked with increasing water supply by 100mld. The new water treatment plant will help us achieve that. A meeting has also been called to plan the water channel project," said a GMDA official.
