Army jawan killed in encounter in Kishtwar
Jammu, May 23 -- An army jawan was killed and two others were injured in an encounter with terrorists in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, officials said, adding that the operation was ongoing.
Officials said that security forces received intel from local police about the presence of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists at Shingpora in Chhatru, Kishtwar. Around 6am, a joint search operation was launched by para commandos of the elite special forces, army's counter insurgency wings -- 7 Assam Rifles and 11 Rashtriya Rifles -- and special operations group of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
