Itanagar, Sept. 19 -- Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi on Thursday pressed for expediting land acquisition in Arunachal Pradesh to ensure that critical defence projects do not get delayed, even as he urged the state to channel more of its youth into the armed forces. In his meeting with Governor K T Parnaik, Dwivedi called for creation of Zilla Sainik Boards to provide institutional support to ex-servicemen and their families. He flagged the "relatively low" participation of youth from Arunachal Pradesh in army, and said awareness campaigns and guidance were vital. Later in the day, Gen Dwivedi met chief minister Pema Khandu.
