New Delhi, Jan. 23 -- Members of the Aravalli Virasat Jan Abhiyan, a coalition of environmentalists, community leaders, social activists, researchers and concerned citizens, said on Thursday that they will begin a 700-km journey through the Aravallis, spread across four states, on January 24 to protest against the Supreme Court's November 2025 ruling altering the definition of the Aravalli range.

Terming the journey the "Aravalli Virasat Jan Abhiyan", members said it was aimed at raising awareness about the importance of the range for the country's ecology by interacting with communities dependent on the hills.
