New Delhi, Dec. 3 -- A blanket of thick haze engulfed the Capital on Tuesday, trapping pollutants close to the surface amid slow winds and leading to a sharp fall in the air quality index (AQI) from the lower end of the "very poor" category to its upper end. From 304 a day before, the AQI deteriorated to 372 on the day, according to the Central Pollution Control Board's (CPCB's) 24-hour average daily bulletin. P4
