New Delhi, May 29 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday filed nominations for the election of one member of the standing committee. The member will be elected through a direct vote in the house of councillors on June 3. The BJP has fielded councillor Satya Sharma (ward 226) and the AAP has nominated Hema (ward 184) for the post. Currently, three seats of the 18-member standing committee are lying vacant. The elections for two seats (vacated by members elected from zonal wards committee) will be held on June 2.
