India, Aug. 16 -- A 40-year-old man was killed after an SUV struck his motorcycle in Delhi's Moti Nagar area, police said on Saturday.

The accident occurred near Moti Nagar police station on Friday evening when a Thar hit a bike, killing Bhikshu Lal on the spot, PTI reported. Police said that the victim was hit by the car while he was standing on his bike at the roadside.

A police official said that the driver of the Thar fled after the incident and a case has been registered at Moti Nagar police station. Two liquor bottles were also recovered from the car's front seat, according to India Today.
