PUNE, June 21 -- One person was killed and another was injured after a ride at an amusement park in Solapur district of Maharashtra, police said on Friday. According to police, the incident took place on Wednesday when Tushar Dhumal, 35, a resident of Bhigwan in Pune district, died after one of the arms of an octopus-themed ride suddenly detached while operating at high speed. His friend, Vaibhav Rupnavar, 30, sustained a serious head injury and underwent surgery at a private hospital in Akluj on Thursday morning.
