Imphal, May 26 -- A scuffle broke out on Sunday afternoon between security forces and protesters when they were attempting to march towards the Raj Bhavan in Imphal, officials said, with reports suggesting that eight people sustained minor injuries after forces used tear gas to disperse the crowd. The protest -- led by the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), an Imphal-based Meitei organisation -- was part of a statewide mass agitation announced on Saturday against the removal of the word "Manipur" from a state transport bus.
