Amid Indo-Pak tension IPL 2025 suspended, promises resumption
Mumbai, May 10 -- The ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was suspended on Friday with immediate effect for a week in wake of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack.
In its statement, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that they would review the situation "in due course after a comprehensive assessment of the situation in consultation with relevant authorities and stakeholders".
The IPL final was scheduled for May 25. There is still room to push the tournament back by a few days. That would leave them with a possible two-week window to conclude the tournament before players get busy with international commitments in June.
