India, Oct. 16 -- All Gujarat ministers baring chief minister Bhupendra Patel resigned on Thursday, a day ahead of expected cabinet expansion.

The Gujarat cabinet comprised 17 ministers, including chief minister Patel. Eight were cabinet-rank ministers, while as many others are ministers of state (MoS).

Gujarat, which has a 182-member assembly, can have 27 ministers or 15 per cent of the total strength of the House.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Gujarat cabinet led by chief minister Bhupendra Patel is headed for an expansion on Friday, officials said.
