India, Jan. 25 -- Alex Jeffrey Pretti was identified as the 37-year-old man fatally shot by Border Patrol agents near Glam Doll Donuts in Minneapolis on Saturday. Earlier in the day, police officials said that they believed that he was an American citizen. The Star Tribune was the first to identify the suspect, only hours after the Department of Homeland Security issued a statement.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara confirmed that Pretti had multiple gunshot wounds when first responders arrived at the scene. He was taken to a medical center, where the 37-year-old was pronounced dead.
