India, June 25 -- Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar was on Tuesday elected to the board of the Malegaon Cooperative Sugar Mill in Baramati, securing 91 out of 101 votes polled in the category he was contesting the prestigious electoral battle to wrest power over the sugar body in Pawars' pocket borough. The elections held on Sunday included 19,549 voters in category 'A' comprising sugarcane cultivators from the region, while 102 voters were in group 'B', which consists of members from various cooperative bodies affiliated to the sugar mill.
