AIMPLB, jamiat criticise rules on National song
New Delhi, Feb. 13 -- The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) on Thursday strongly objected to the Centre's mandate of singing of all six stanzas of 'Vande Mataram', terming the directive "unconstitutional".
In a press statement issued on Thursday, the board's general secretary Maulana Mohammed Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi strongly opposed the Union government's decision, calling it "unconstitutional, against religious freedom and secular values, contrary to the Supreme Court judgment, and directly conflicting with the religious beliefs of Muslims".
