New Delhi/Ahmedabad, June 14 -- Air India will no longer operate flight number 171 and replace it with flight number 159, officials familiar with the decision said on Friday, a day after one of the deadliest plane crashes in Indian aviation history. "The flight from Ahmedabad to Gatwick [London] will be re-numbered to AI-159. The return flight too will be changed to AI-160," an official who asked not to be named said, a day after AI-171 crashed into a medical college hostel 33 seconds after taking off from the Ahmedabad airport.
