New Delhi, April 30 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday appointed Ankush Narang, the Ranjeet Nagar councillor, as the leader of Opposition in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. "I am pleased to inform that Ankush Narang, municipal councillor from Ward 87 has been appointed as leader of Opposition in the MCD," AAP'S Delhi Convener Saurabh Bharadwaj said in a letter to the municipal secretary. An MCD official said current LoP Mukesh Goyal had submitted his resignation. The recently conducted MCD polls marked the Bharatiya Janata Party's return to power in the civic body, amid a boycott by the AAP. Raja Iqbal Singh of the BJP won the mayoral polls , with BJP hailing the "triple-engine" government in Delhi.
