India, July 12 -- The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has released its 15-page preliminary report on the Air India crash that took place in Ahmedabad on June 12.
The report, which examines the sequence of events and engine behaviour leading up to the incident involving a Boeing 787-8 aircraft, offers the first official insight into what transpired.
The investigation team will review additional evidence being sought from stakeholders, the AAIB said in its preliminary report.
The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed into the hostel premises of B J Medical College on the outskirts of the airport, killing 240 of the 241 passengers onboard. One passenger survived, while 19 people on the ground also lost their lives.
