A semblance of calm in areas on border after uneasy nights
Jammu/Srinagar/Poonch/ Bathinda/ Barmer/Jaisalmer, May 12 -- Border areas across India's northern and western fronts remained peaceful on Sunday after India and Pakistan reached an understanding on halting military actions, after four days of escalating conflict.
An uneasy calm prevailed in J&K, with officials saying that no ceasefire violation or drone activity was recorded.
"Though we have resumed our normal life, we hope Pakistan doesn't vitiate the atmosphere," 42-year-old Madan Lal, a resident of Akhnoor, said.
In Punjab's Bathinda, residents breathed a sigh of relief after a de-escalation in hostilities.
