New Delhi, Nov. 22 -- The Delhi Police have arrested 877 people and detained over 4,300 suspects in a sweeping 48-hour crackdown on cyber fraud, one of the largest such operations in the Capital. Joint CP (IFSO) Rajneesh Gupta said the action followed a month-long intelligence exercise, Cyber Hawk, conducted with the Union home ministry. Teams mapped cybercrime hotspots, analysed mule accounts and tracked suspicious digital trails, leading to 360 FIRs. Several illegal call centres running fake job offers, telemarketing fraud, tech-support scams and customer-care impersonation were busted. Over Rs.1,000 crore in defrauded money was linked to mule accounts identified during the operation.
