Ranchi, Jan. 8 -- Six people belonging to two families in separate villages were allegedly killed in an elephant attack in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district on Tuesday night, officials said, taking the number of people killed in such attacks to 16 in a week. A forest department official said the area under Jeteya police station in the Noamundi block was under attack by a wild elephant. "Six villagers were killed in separate incidents across villages, while four others sustained serious injuries.
