New Delhi, April 29 -- A 56-year-old man drowned after falling into a septic tank, after its upper portion caved in when he was standing on it and removing debris at his house in Prem Nagar on Sunday morning, police said on Monday.
"Prima facie, it appeared that the iron bars used in the concrete portion of the septic tank were weak and rusted. Possibly, it could not bear Kumar's weight. Kumar fell into the tank that was full of sludge and sanitary wastewater. By the time locals rushed Kumar to a hospital, he had died of drowning," said a police officer. htc
