Prayagraj, March 30 -- A 50-year-old civil engineer of the Indian Air Force died after he was shot inside his official residence in the high-security Air Force Colony in Prayagraj on Saturday, police officials said, adding that preliminary investigation hinted at personal enmity as the likely motive behind the crime.

The deceased, identified as SN Mishra, who was a civil engineer at the Central Air Command's North Zone, was attacked through the window of his room while his wife and son were asleep in other rooms of their Engineers Colony house inside the Air Force Station, Puramufti Station House Officer (SHO) Manoj Singh said.
