Hyderabad, July 16 -- A 43-year-old Communist Party of India leader was shot dead by unidentified assailants in broad daylight when he was on his morning walk at Malakpet in Hyderabad on Tuesday morning, the police said. The deceased was identified as Chandu Naik, a state committee member of the CPI. His wife Nari Bai and a few of his friends were also present when the miscreants who came in a car, attacked him and sprinkled chilli powder in his eyes, before firing five rounds to kill him.
