Patna, Sept. 4 -- Four men, including the chief (mukhiya) of the village, were booked for holding a 28-year-old man hostage and for brutally torturing him for the alleged theft of Rs.1.5 lakh in Bhagalpur district of Bihar, police said. The victim, Navin Kumar, is undergoing treatment in the emergency ward of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital, Bhagalpur, police said, describing the incident as "inhuman". An FIR was registered against the mukhiya, Vineet Kumar Singh alias Bunty Singh, Lalit Singh, Ajay Singh, and Pappu Singh, all of whom are between the ages of 40-45.
