India, Nov. 4 -- At least four persons are dead and some others injured after a MEMU local train collided with a goods train near the Bilaspur railway station in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.

The incident took place around 4 pm, and the railways have moved all the resources to the spot. The Railway PRO said that all measures are being taken for the treatment of the injured.

Bilaspur Collector Sanjay Agarwal said that four persons have died in the accident, adding that rescue operations are underway. Meanwhile, a police officer present at the spot said that two persons are still trapped.

Sources told HT that the goods train was stationed, adding that it was the local train that hit it.
