Shimla, July 20 -- Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has sought immediate central assistance and special provisions for Himalayan states following the recent monsoon fury that claimed 85 lives and caused losses worth Rs.1,100 crore in the hill state. In an interview with Ramesh Vinayak, the chief minister said at least 34 people were still missing after cloudbursts, landslides and flash floods hit the state over the past three weeks - a series of events that he attributed to the climate crisis.
