Chennai, July 9 -- Three school children died and three other people were injured after a passenger train hit a school bus at a railway level crossing in Tamil Nadu's Cuddalore district on Tuesday, police said. The gatekeeper posted at the crossing has been suspended and arrested, Southern Railway officials said. Among those injured are another student, the bus driver, and a bystander, who rushed to help but got electrocuted after coming in contact with a live pole that was damaged in the accident. Officials said that the bus carrying the students was crossing the tracks between Cuddalore and Alappakkam, and was hit by the Villupuram- Mayiladuthurai passenger train.
