3 soldiers killed as truck falls into gorge
JAMMU, May 5 -- At least three soldiers were killed when an army truck, which was part of an army convoy, veered off the road and plunged into a 300-metre-deep gorge at Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, officers aware of the matter said, adding that all the three bodies have been retrieved.
"Three soldiers have died in the accident, which took place between Battery Chashma and Monkey Morh on Jammu-Srinagar national highway around noon. The convoy was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu," said Ramban senior superintendent of police Kulbir Singh.
"The deceased were identified as Naib Subedar Sujeet Kumar, Rifleman Manbahadur and driver Amit Kumar," said Singh.
