New Delhi, May 31 -- Five women street vendors were allegedly assaulted by three men in southwest Delhi's Sarojini Nagar market on Tuesday, police said on Friday. They said that all three men have been apprehended and are being questioned. They have been booked for assault. According to the police, the incident took place around 11.30am on May 27. A PCR call was received after the woman alleged that they were thrashed and assaulted with sticks by three men after a dispute over placing their carts near the main market. Police said the women, who are aged between 30 to 50, alleged they were thrashed by three persons - Sitar Singh, Tulsi Singh and Rameshwar Singh.
