NEW DELHI, March 12 -- Three men were burned to death and one was injured when a shanty caught fire in Anand Vihar area early Tuesday. Police have registered a case of causing death by negligence in connection with the incident.
The deceased were identified as Jaagi Singh, 30, from Banda in Uttar Pradesh, Shyam Singh, 40, from UP's Auraiya, and his brother, Kanta Prasad, 40. Their colleague, Nitin Kumar, 32, from Ghaziabad, survived the fire, said deputy commissioner of police (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam.
All four were employed as labourers on an Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) project at Harsh Vihar in east Delhi. The blaze broke out in one of around seven-eight makeshift shelters on DDA land near the Rotary Club.P4
