Chandigarh, April 7 -- Agniveers will be given 20% reservation in the recruitment of Haryana police after completing their mandatory four-year service in the armed forces, chief minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Sunday.
Similar provisions are being made in the jobs of forest guards, jail wardens and mining guards, Saini said nearly a year after the Bharatiya Janata Party in July 2024 announced its plans to introduce the reservation as part of its poll promises.
"Agniveers will be provided 20% reservation in the recruitment of state police," Saini said after chairing a review meeting on this issue.
