Chennai, Nov. 6 -- TVK chief Vijay on Wednesday stated that the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu next year will be a direct battle between his party and the DMK, even as he slammed the MK Stalin-led government over the probe into Karur stampede. In the TVK's first meeting since the September 27 stampede that claimed 41 lives, the party passed 12 resolutions, including naming Vijay as its chief ministerial candidate and authorising the actor-politician to decide on alliance matters.
