Raipur, March 2 -- Two Maoists, including a woman cadre, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday, taking the number of ultras gunned down in separate skirmishes in the state to 83 so far this year, police said.
Weapons and other Maoist material were recovered from the spot, police said, adding the identity of the slain ultras are yet to be ascertained.
Sukma superintendent of police (SP) Kiran Chavan said the encounter broke out in the forest of Kistaram police station area in the morning, when a joint team of security personnel was out on an anti-Maoist operation.
